Program Assistant

Volunteers of America Delaware Valley is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Program Assistant to join our Behavioral Health and Reentry Services team. In this essential front-line role, you'll help ensure the smooth, safe, and respectful operation of our residential facilities—supporting clients as they rebuild their lives and transition toward greater independence.

This is a hands-on role perfect for someone who values structure, has a calm and professional presence, and is motivated by meaningful, mission-driven work.

What You’ll Do:

  • Conduct hourly facility rounds, monitor census, and ensure safety compliance
  • Coordinate new client orientation, pass procedures, and curfew tracking
  • Perform client room and facility inspections, search procedures, and safety checks
  • Schedule and log medical appointments and meals; notify appropriate staff
  • Monitor client medication procedures and record accordingly
  • Document incidents, disciplinary actions, and maintain daily operational logs
  • Support case management and ensure adherence to operational and security procedures
  • Greet and screen visitors, manage sign-ins, and operate security equipment
  • Conduct drug and alcohol screenings as needed and report findings
  • Assist with clerical tasks and support special programming and training requirements

What You Need:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in human services preferred but not required
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to remain calm, professional, and organized
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to meet agency driving standards
  • Ability to pass required background clearance
  • Bilingual fluency is a plus
