Treatment Specialist 1

Volunteers of America Delaware Valley is seeking a committed and client-focused Treatment Specialist 1 to join our Behavioral Health & Reentry Services team. In this role, you’ll support individuals navigating behavioral health challenges and reentry, using assessment tools and evidence-based practices to help them build a path forward.

As part of a multidisciplinary treatment team, you will assess client needs, develop service plans, provide therapeutic group facilitation, and support program outcomes in a structured and compassionate environment.

What You’ll Do:

  • Conduct risk/needs assessments and create individualized, recovery-oriented service plans
  • Monitor, document, and report client progress in compliance with agency and funding source guidelines
  • Facilitate individual case management sessions and evidence-based group programs
  • Participate in treatment team meetings, court appearances, and house meetings as needed
  • Support clients in developing discharge plans and connecting to community resources
  • Complete reports, documentation, and assessments as required
  • Conduct drug and alcohol screenings and ensure follow-through on program requirements
  • Coordinate with staff and contribute to a supportive, team-centered treatment environment

What You Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Human Services or a related field
  • Completion of Group Facilitation Skills and at least one core curriculum training
  • One year of agency experience preferred; transferable experience is a plus
  • Demonstrated competency in core curriculum facilitation
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to meet agency driving standards
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends
  • Bilingual fluency is a plus
